Tsujikura – the long-established wagasa manufacturer since 1690.
We have been preserving tradition and culture of Japanese umbrellas for over three hundred years.
Our hope is to introduce and bequeath the beauty of Japanese umbrellas to the world from historical Kyoto, wishing that people in the world, not only in Japan, would love Kyoto and Japan-made wagasa, the washi-made umbrellas and parasols.

Established in 1690, Tsujikura is proud to maintain the tradition and culture kept for more than 300 years.
Please feel our passion to pursue authenticity.

There are three types of Wagasa: an umbrella (Wagasa), a parasol for dancing (Maigasa) and a parasol (Higasa).

From Tsujikura to our customers

Tsujikura has been operating a street store for many years, but due to the aging of the building, we renovated the shop on the 7th floor of the TSUJIKURA building at the same location in 2011. At the store, everyone is welcome to take a look at all the Japanese umbrellas sold in our online store and purchase them at their leisure. If you are ever in Kyoto, please stop by Tsujikura and see the same beautiful wagasa as in the past.
