~Customer feedback~

Here are some comments from customers after their experience.

The Hime Wagasa umbrella making experience was very cute and fun. I have tried various crafting experiences both in Kyoto and elsewhere, but the Hime Wagasa umbrellas here really feel like they are being made, and the finished product is very cute, so I highly recommend it if you are looking for a crafting experience in Kyoto. I think even children from around 10 years old can do it.

However, the cost is quite high at 8,800 yen. Apply glue, paste strips of decorative washi paper on the inside, then paste the main circular washi paper, crease it, and it's complete. This may seem easy, but if you use too much or too little glue, or let it drip in irrelevant places, it will not work, and since it is the washi paper that is used to paste and crease it, it will tear if done carelessly. On the other hand, if you are too careful and slow, the glue will dry out and you will not be able to stick it on. So, the difficulty level is a little high, and it may be a bit difficult for younger elementary school students, but I think that children in the middle or upper grades of elementary school and above can do it with the help of an instructor.
The entire trip takes a solid 90 minutes, so you'll need to spend half a day on it.

Very informative, beautiful & culturally rich experiences

It was a very meaningful, beautiful and culturally enriching experience.

I'm glad I learned how to make a Japanese umbrella.

It was a lot of fun to make.
