“Hana Hiraku”Ume no Hana/High Quality Paper Parasol

Hana Hiraku
This is a Japanese parasol that “blooms toward the future.”
As the name suggests, when you open the parasol, you will see a flower pattern on the entire inside of the parasol.
The appearance of the flowers evokes the image of blooming flowers.

The floral pattern on the inside of the Wagasa also makes a beautiful background for photography.
It is a perfect gift for celebrations and for those who have taken care of you.

There are various craftsmen who make the bones that form the framework, make the parts called a potter’s wheel that connect the bones, and make the Japanese paper before a single Japanese umbrella is completed. Tsujikura’s craftsmen then make it into one Wagasa.
Wagasa is made through relationships between people, and these relationships are further connected to customers and to the next generation. With this meaning, we named Tsujikura’s Japanese parasols “En,” meaning “to connect”. We will devote ourselves to making wagasa every day so that we will be able to expand our business with people all over the world.

Hand-dyed Yuzen Washi Paper
“Jizome” is the process of dyeing the base of the entire washi, followed by ” Iro-sashi,” in which the paper is dyed using a mold frame. Color insertion is repeated as many times as the number of colors. Finally, a hot plate and warm air are used to dry the paper, resulting in a gorgeous hand-dyed Yuzen Washi.
*Please note that it cannot be used in the rain.

How to Use the Wagasa
When you walk carrying the closed umbrella, please grasp the head of the Wagasa, or for Janome please grasp the cord on the head, and for Bangasa please hold the leather strings bound around the head.

How to Open the Wagasa
The Wagasa may be difficult to open due to the waterproof grease on the Washi. Please lightly grasp the bottom of the runner at the bottom inside the umbrella, and slowly and carefully push to the top to open the Wagasa.
