Black bamboo snake-eye umbrella "Openwork maple leaves"
▪ Black bamboo snake-eye umbrella
This snake-eye umbrella (rain umbrella) is made entirely from natural materials produced in Japan, including the black bamboo handle, without using any metal whatsoever.
The sound of the wood crackling when you open the umbrella is indescribably pleasant, and the black bamboo feels great in your hand.
▪ Openwork Autumn Leaves
This beautiful Japanese paper is made by collecting fallen leaves one by one according to the season, and then sprinkling gold and silver foil all over the watermark during the papermaking process.
The washi paper containing leaves for use in umbrellas takes approximately six months to complete after an order is placed.
The finished product is not only delicate due to the hand-made process, but is also thick and durable.
The process of making a Japanese umbrella requires several steps: making the framework, connecting the framework with a potter's wheel, and so on.
There are many different craftsmen who make the parts that are used and make the Japanese paper.
Then Tsujikura's craftsmen will make it into a Japanese umbrella.
The beautiful autumn leaves can be seen shining through the inside of the finished Japanese umbrella.
We have created a Japanese umbrella that will make you look forward to rainy days.
