High Quality Tsukiyakko “Red Crystal
This is a Japanese umbrella with a Tsukiyakko pattern in shades of pink and transparent red crystal.
The pale and gentle rose color will soften and heal the feelings of the person holding the umbrella.
Wagasa is made of very strong and beautiful Japanese paper made in Kurotani, Kyoto.
The Kozo (paper mulberry) of the Japanese paper shows through beautifully and its beauty stands out.

The number of washi craftsmen has continued to decline over time, and is now in the single digits.
However, the number of craftsmen is relatively young, mainly in their 30s and 40s, and the production area is very active.
While preserving the traditional “handmade paper” technique that has continued for more than 800 years, the production area is also strengthening the development of new products and the production area’s brand.

This umbrella is made with Washi paper. It is slim and light, the most simple style and easy to use. It is recommended for the first Wagasa. Maiko and Geiko in Kyoto are actually using this type of Wagasa.

How to Use the Wagasa
When you walk carrying the closed umbrella, please grasp the head of the Wagasa, or for Janome please grasp the cord on the head, and for Bangasa please hold the leather strings bound around the head.

How to Open the Wagasa
The Wagasa may be difficult to open due to the waterproof grease on the Washi. Please lightly grasp the bottom of the runner at the bottom inside the umbrella, and slowly and carefully push to the top to open the Wagasa.
