Black Bamboo Japanese Parasol "Edge" Polka Dot/Red
Black Bamboo Japanese Parasol "Edge" Polka Dot/Red
This Japanese parasol is made entirely from natural materials, including the black bamboo handle and even the smallest parts.
The sling that holds the open umbrella in place is made of wood instead of metal.
Bamboo nails are used to connect each part.
The sound of the wood crackling when you open the umbrella is very pleasant, and the black bamboo feels great in your hand.
"Polka dots/red"
A cute Japanese parasol with polka dots.
Among the many dyeing techniques in Japan, stencil dyeing is an ancient tradition that brings together a rich variety of pattern expression and delicate techniques unique to the Japanese. The parts that are not to be dyed are coated with a paste to prevent the dye from being dyed, and then each color is applied using a different stencil. In the final process, the design finally becomes clear when the paste floats off the washi paper in water.
"En"
It takes many craftsmen to make a single Japanese umbrella, including making the framework, creating the parts called rokuro that connect the framework, and making the washi paper. Then, the craftsmen at Tsujikura finish it into a single Japanese umbrella.
Japanese umbrellas are made through connections between people, and these connections are passed on to customers and to the next generation.
Tsujikura's Japanese parasol was named "En," which means "connection," with this meaning in mind.
We will continue to work hard every day to create Japanese umbrellas so that we can build relationships with people all over the world through our connections.
*Please note that this product cannot be used in rainy weather.
