This is Isamu Noguchi's AKARI series. "For modernized lifestyles, lighting close to natural light is something we long for, and the light that shines through the washi paper disperses the light just enough to cast a soft glow throughout the room. With AKARI, the light itself is a sculpture, a sculpture without a shadow." -Isamu Noguchi-
This is a type of pendant light that is hung from the ceiling. It is a long, large size. When lit, it has a stronger presence, so it can be used in an open-ceiling entrance, a corner of a living room, or for store displays. It is a popular type among the long, large sizes.
It is easy to use; simply insert the string into the shade, stretch it out, and place the light bulb in the center of the shade.
Bulbs and fixtures sold separately.
