Mother's Day Gifts
Mother's Day is the second Sunday in May, and in 2021 it falls on May 8th.
Mother's Day is a day to show appreciation and gratitude to mothers who do everything for their families.
I would like to give this to my mother with my feelings for her.
The origin of Mother's Day
Mother's Day is said to have begun in 1907, when an American woman named Anna Jarvis decorated her church with white carnations, her mother's favorite, in memory of her mother's death.
Anna Jarvis advocated that "people should have an opportunity to express their gratitude to their mothers while they are still alive." This movement spread throughout the United States, and in 1914, the president at the time designated the second Sunday in May as "Mother's Day," making it a national holiday. It is said that Mother's Day was first celebrated in Japan at the end of the Meiji period, but in the Taisho period it began to spread among Christians and Sunday schools, and in the Showa period, March 6th, the birthday of the Empress, became Mother's Day.
In 1973 (Showa 12), the confectionery manufacturer Morinaga & Co. promoted it widely, and it became popular nationwide.
Then, around 1949, following the example of the United States, the second Sunday in May became commonly known as Mother's Day.
How about giving an auspicious Japanese umbrella with a wide ending on Mother's Day to show your appreciation for all you've got?
"To my mom, thank you for everything. I'm so grateful. Please stay healthy."
