The process we will introduce today is the “Ootame” process.
This is a very important process that determines the “closed beauty” of the finished umbrella.
The bones are heated to soften them, and then curved by applying appropriate pressure.
Only craftsmen with many years of experience and skills are able to determine the amount of force and the bending points according to the individual characteristics of each bone.
