A famous cherry blossom spot that blends into the ancient city of Kyoto
Kyoto is an ancient capital where old streetscapes still remain and cultural assets scattered throughout the city are registered as World Heritage Sites.
Many cherry trees are planted in the temples, shrines, and streets of Kyoto, and the cherry blossom petals, which blend in with the quaint townscape, are in full bloom here and there.
Among them, I took a Japanese umbrella and headed out to Shinsho Gokurakuji Temple, popularly known as Shinnyodo Temple, which has its temple grounds located on top of a small hill.
The entire temple grounds are covered in cherry blossoms, and in front of the main gate located in the west, the branches that stretch out to cover the approach to the temple welcome visitors with flowers in full bloom. Many cherry trees are also in bloom in the square in front of the main hall, an important cultural property, decorating the main hall and the three-story pagoda.
